Hydrangea aspera HYDREAM Chocolate

Description: HYDREAM 'Chocolate' is similar to the Hot Chocolate variety but more compact and branched, with better frost resistance. It is covered with pink inflorescences with bluish centres which contrast with the dark green foliage with dark red undersides.

Foliage: Deciduous
 
Size: Height and spread 1.2m to 1.8m
 
Position: Requires partial or dappled shade in a sheleterd position
 
Soil: Moist, well drained.
 
Pruning: Little needed. Cutting stems back in winter will remove next seasons flower buds so best avoided. Can cut off dead flowers down to the next leaf buds.
