Description: 'Bela' is a recent discovery as a branch 'sport' of the popular lacecap variety 'Blaumeise'. Its a large-growing variety and covered with rounded, dark-blue mophead flowers (pink in alkaline soils).
Flowering time: June to September
Foliage: Deciduous
Size: Height and spread 1.5 to 2m
Position: Will thrive best in partial or dappled shade planted in a border
Soil: Moist, well drained.
Pruning: Little needed. Cutting stems back in winter will remove next seasons flower buds so best avoided. Can cut off dead flowers down to the next leaf buds.
