Description: 'Blue Bird' is a very floriferous blue lacecap variety (pink in alkaline soils). At the end of the flowering period, the florets show their pink undersides. Beautiful, elongated, flat foliage, purplish-green, turning a glossy coppery-red in autumn.

Flowering time: Late June to October

Foliage: Deciduous

Size: Height and spread 1.5m

Position: Will thrive best in partial or dappled shade planted in a border Soil: Moist, well drained.

Pruning: Little needed. Cutting stems back in winter will remove next seasons flower buds so best avoided. Just cut off dead flowers down to the next leaf buds.
